It has so far been NYC’s most ridiculously cold spring I can remember, but now the weather has finally picked up and our coverage of the New York art season continues.
The typical art fair limits their exhibitors to galleries only or independent artists only, but Art Expo is an interesting fair featuring an eclectic mix of both. The art on display offer a refreshing range of mediums too. Paintings, sculptures, photography, prints, drawings, and even glassworks and ceramics are on sale.
An eclectic fair like this will never be taken as seriously by the insider art word as the Basels, Friezes, and TEFAFs. However, I do believe fairs like this are great for the overall art industry to expand the community of art buyers by offering a less intimidating atmosphere and more accessible pricepoints for original art.
